The Whistle Stop Tour “On Training”

Training Assessment Workshops
May-June 2006

The Whistle Stop Tour “On Training”, guided by the infamous Madeline McNamara, offered women theatre practitioners a free 2-part workshop to help you to set goals, identify your training needs and create a Plan to meet those needs.

“Immensely empowering and practical”
Christchurch participant

Coupled with an informal informational presentation about Magdalena Aotearoa and the Magdalena Project, this was an inspiring, provocative and fun event.

” … a highly invaluable opportunity to hone in on where one is at with one’s practice and where one needs to go – an opportunity we rarely give ourselves, especially amidst our busy and fragmented lives as women.” Dunedin participant

The workshop was given in two 2-3 hour sessions, offering:

  • practical exercises to help identify your training needs and how to meet them;
  • focused time to set goals and create a written training plan;
  • the opportunity to network with local women theatre practitioners;
  • information about Magdalena Aotearoa and the Magdalena Project.

Dates were as follows:

June 10: Auckland
Saturday, 10am-5pm

June 17-18: Wellington
Saturday 10am-1pm, and Sunday 11am- 2pm

The training assessment workshops were FREE! and were funded by a grant from CLANZ.
