This is how we describe what was at the heart of the festival at Paekakariki. The finale to the Magdalena Aotearoa International Festival of Women’s Performance took participants to Aotearoa’s Kapiti Coast, where they were hosted by local Maori women.For three days, participants were taught by Maori tutors who specialised in aspects of traditional and contemporary performance, and indigenous international tutors complemented the programme. Concerts featuring guest artists were held each evening.
